| [As
of April 26, 2007, South Jersey Pipers & Drums, aka macLOUD is
moribund.] From the deep, dark recesses of the New Jersey Pinelands comes a new sound with an otherwordly beat--introducing South Jersey Pipes & Drums, aka macLOUD. These Jersey Devils are based in Atlantic County, NJ, so they can be close to their beloved Pipe Barrens, lurking hidden and quiet, until, suddenly, they strike, clawing their way out, leaving hoofmarks not only all over South Jersey, but venturing far and wide from Virginia to New England. Who are these strange, malformed creatures that roam the night making devilish sounds and scare all God-fearning people along the Atlantic Seaboard? You may regret the question, but among them are pipers Bruce "Shallow" Graves, Mike "Black" Smith, Jeff "Boothill" Tuthill, and Michael "Death Knell" Bell. If you thought the pipers were a scary lot, consider the drummers: John "Skinner" Ragan, John "Scary" Garry, and Rick "Sarcophagus" Cairo. And let us not forget those pipers in training, Mark "Fang" Langweiler and Jeff "Electric Eel" MacNeill. Aye, wouldn't Mother Leeds be proud! You may have noticed that it's hard to tell where Birnam Wood ends and the South Jersey crew begins. What do you expect of shapeshifters? They fear not transmorgrification, nor should you! ![]() macLOUD at the 2007 Atlantic City Beer Festival
